Laser Hair Removal – Making the right choice!

Laser Hair Removal

Why is it important to make the right choice if you’re considering using a laser clinic?

Having laser hair removal is a big decision because of the cost and time needed to invest in the procedure. When you have made the decision to proceed, it’s important that you pick the right clinic.

But how do you know which is the right one for you? Here are some elements to consider as you make your choice.

  • Do your research, so that when you speak to the laser hair removal technician you can determine how knowledgeable they are.
  • What type of laser is being used! There are 2 types of laser IPL, which is an original and newer model. The original has had great results, but it can be a little inconsistent due to the fact that it only kills the hair in its growth stage. This makes it a longer and more expensive process. The newer laser has three wave lengths and is a more effective treatment. This is because it is able to kill the hair in all three stages of its growth, more specifically Anagen, Catagen and Telogen. It will increase the percentage of permanent hair removal to at least 90%.
  • Ask to see results from previous clients and check online to see what customer reviews say about your chosen clinic.
  • Request a detailed treatment plan which should include the process and the costs. We would recommend you do this before handing any money over.

Tips

  • Once you have chosen the clinic ask the clinician to explain how the laser works and what percentage of the hair that will be removed. You’re looking for a MINIMUM OF 90% NOT UP TO 90%.
  • Ask for clarification of the treatment process, more specifically how will the power level of the laser increase each session. This is the key to laser hair removal, and you should feel the intensity of the laser increase every time you have the treatment done.

Lately we have had a number of new clients who have chosen Rejuv Skin HQ, after they have left other well-known clinics. Sadly, they have paid and received unsatisfactory treatment, which led to them seeking advice.

The upsetting similarity of the stories told by many of these clients is all too familiar. This is why we feel it is important to provide our clients with the information they need, before they make a decision on whether to have laser hair removal.

We are finding more and more clinics have discounted courses for hair removal, with some offering as much as 50% off. But once the treatment course is finished the client has found that the hair is still there. It is at this point the clinic will inform the client that they need to buy further treatments at full price

We are an experienced laser hair removal clinic, and we know that this can happen. The average we tell our clients is 6 to 8 treatments, but it is completely plausible that it can take as many as 12 to 15 sessions. This will depend on the skin and hair type, and because of this we cannot give you a definitive number of sessions.

The similarity of the stories we are hearing leads us to believe that other clinics are not increasing the power levels on the machine. The reason why it is important to increase the power and in turn the intensity of the laser, is because each time you go through the process the hair weakens and becomes lighter in colour. Therefore, by increasing the strength of the laser we are keeping the intensity up and continuously destroying the hair. If this is not followed properly then we may only weaken the hair, making removal less likely.
